Morris Arboretum and Gardens Scarecrow Photo Walk
Details
Morris Arboretum is the site of the former summer home of siblings John and Lydia Morris who shared a love of landscape. It is now the official arboretum of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Plan to arrive when gates open at 10am. We will begin introductions at 10:15 outside the entrance to the Welcome Center. Restrooms available at entrance.
We'll spend 2+ hours walking the grounds (3-4 miles) for the 18th Annual Scarecrow Festival. Some mild rolling hills, grassy meadows, wooded paths and paved paths. We'll have opportunities to photograph many scarecrows, garden areas, ponds, pools, sculptures and historic buildings. Highlights include the Rose Garden, Swan Pond, Log Cabin, several small waterfalls, and several other garden areas.
There is a $22 admission fee ($20 for age 65 and up) to enter the gardens.
After the walk, If time allows, I'll be heading to Locals Coffee (about an 8 minute drive) for coffee/pastries/sandwiches. Feel free to join me.
Members of all skill levels will have many opportunities for photos while participating on this walk.
