New Hope Railroad Steam Engine Photo Walk
Details
Note: You will initially be placed on the waitlist when you sign up. If there is high demand, I will run a lottery for the limited spots.
This will be a 5-6 mile out and back moderately paced, flat walk mostly on compacted dirt canal paths and on sidewalks in New Hope and Lambertville.
Our primary objective: Capture picture frame-worthy photos of the historic New Hope Railroad Steam Engine.
As we pass through New Hope, we'll stop at my favorite locations for photographing the historic Steam Engine in action. From there we'll head onto Main Street in New Hope and then cross over the Delaware River into Lambertville where we'll make a pit stop at Chez Alice for hot drinks and pastries. Plenty of opportunities to capture photos of the steam and diesel engines as well as scenic canal and river views.
We'll meet at 8:45am in the Canal Path Park parking lot located off Rt 32 just north of New Hope. (meet at farthest end of lot from Rt 32 near the foot bridge that crosses the canal.)
Please be on time - we have a train to catch!!!
Dress in layers and footwear appropriate for the weather. (We may be standing around in the cold waiting for the train, so dress appropriately.)
Rest Rooms available at the halfway point.
Please bring cash/plastic if you plan on purchasing food/drink.
Members of all skill levels, whether using an iPhone or DSLR, will have many opportunities for photos while we are walking on this hike.
Steady rain cancels event. Update will be posted in Meetup by 7 am the day of the event.
If you sign up for this event and your plans change, Please remember to update your RSVP in Meetup.
