Ringing Rocks, Waterfall and Coffee 6 Miler
Details
The trail has re-opened so no need for detours or bushwacking.
This will be a 6 mile out and back moderate hike mostly flat, but ending with a 488 foot elevation gain during the final 7/10 mile. Feel free to bring hiking poles if you find them helpful.
We'll meet in the parking area of Ringing Rocks County Park. Rustic Restrooms are usually available. From the lot, we'll make our way to the boulder field. (Bring a small hammer to bang on the boulders to make them ring.) After exploring the boulder field, we'll head along the trail to the waterfall. This short section of the trail has exposed rocks and roots so wear appropriate hiking shoes. The waterfall can be a small trickle or gushing flow and is highly dependent on recent rain. (An optional boulder scramble is required to get down and back up from the falls for those who choose to get a closer look). We'll then hike down to the Delaware Canal and head over to Homestead Coffee and General Store for snacks/drinks before heading back to Ringing Rocks.
Remember to wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. Bring water and a snack.
Steady rain cancels event. Update will be posted in Meetup by 7am the day of the event.
If you sign up for this event and your plans change, Please remember to update your RSVP in Meetup.
