Test-Driven Development Workflow with Chef Compliance and Chef Delivery

A walkthrough of how Chef enables testing of code early and often through the new Chef Compliance and Delivery workflow.

We’ll be talking about the test-driven development workflow, where we start with testing for security and compliance using InSpec infrastructure testing framework. We will then walk you through the process of delivering that change through Chef’s Delivery Pipeline, while testing for quality and compliance, using ServerSpec and InSpec testing languages. You’ll see how Chef Delivery provides a pipeline that prescriptive, yet customizable using Chef, and how the Chef Delivery Pipeline can be used to release any artifact including Chef cookbooks, applications, etc.

About the presenter

Nicole Johnson is a Solutions Architect at Chef, based in NYC Metro. She has been in the IT industry for over 10 years, with Chef for nearly a year, and has spent previous years with VMware, and various positions in infrastructure architecture and operations.
