What we’re about
The Upper Bucks County/Lehigh Valley area has become a hotbed of activity in the beer and wine world in recent years and this group will explore this booming part of our local economy and culture.
There are more than 20 microbreweries in this region and more than 30 wineries. Brewpubs, craft beer bars and wine bars are also fair game for this group. We'll learn about the beer and wine-making process and of course get to sample the fruits of our local entrepreneurs' labors.
Expect monthly meetups, tours, tastings and just hanging out, making new friends and enjoying good times, and maybe some scenic views in the process. Whether you're into beer, wine or both, or just interested in exploring and getting to know the area better, this group is for you.
No dues, fees or cover charges, this is a fun thing for me, not a side hustle.
See you on the trail!

Welcoming Barley Creek Brewing to the Lehigh Valley
Barley Creek Taproom Saucon, 2880 Saucon Valley Parkway, Suite 640, Center Valley, PA, USPlease join us on this day as we officially welcome a new brewery to the Lehigh Valley: Barley Creek Brewing from Tannersville in the Poconos to their new outpost in Center Valley.
Barley Creek, the Poconos' original brewery, has been brewing beer up in the mountains since 1995. It has a distillery up there as well. The brewery celebrated 30 years in business by expanding into the Lehigh Valley when it opened its Taproom Saucon at the Promenade Saucon Valley shops in Center Valley in December 2025.
They have 14 beers on tap plus cans and are currently pouring a black lager, a brown ale, a Belgian-style wheat, a golden ale, multiple IPAs, including a black IPA, a light lager, a winter lager, a cream ale, a pale ale and a chocolate porter. In fact, their Wanderlust Chocolate Porter was recently named one of the best winter beers in NE PA.
Barley Creek has craft cocktails made with their spirits as well. Their Applejack recently took first prize in the brandy category at the first-ever Pennsylvania Farm Show Spirits Competition. As with our other breweries, a selection of Pennsylvania wines is also available.
Barley Creek's Taproom Saucon is a full-service restaurant, serving burgers, wings, apps, salads, pizza, sandwiches, mac-and-cheese, and comfort-food entrees. So plan to join us for lunch, no outside food please.
We'll get things started at 12:30. We'll have a reserved space and separate checks.

Valentine's Day Brew Crawl in Downtown Allentown
Fegley's Allentown Brew Works, 812 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA, USIf Philly, New York and even Baltimore can have Valentine's Day bar crawls, then so can Allentown. So join us for the inaugural Allentown Valentine's Day Brew Crawl as we visit downtown Allentown's two breweries and maybe some other places along the way.
We'll start the day off at the award-winning Fegley's Allentown Brew Works. This is the second Fegley's location, opened in 2007, nine years after their flagship brewery in downtown Bethlehem.
Fegley's Allentown brewery is in the old Harold's Furniture Store space. It may not be there for too much longer. The Fegley family is selling the building (it's still on the market as I write this) and the brewery will likely vacate the space once the building changes hands.
Fegley's recently won four medals at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Beer Competition, more than any other Lehigh Valley brewery, including: First place in Belgian Ale for Steelgaarden Wit; first place in Amber Lager for Fegley's Amber Lager; second place in Pale American Ale for Valley Golden Ale; and second place in IPA for Bethlehem Red Ale.
After beer and lunch (and maybe a brewery tour) at Fegley's, we'll head half a block down the street to downtown Allentown's other brewery, Bru Daddy's. Bru Daddy's has been a downtown Allentown fixture since 2019, when it originally opened as Hop Daddy's. After a trademark dispute, it's been Bru Daddy's since 2020.
Its Gold Lager took silver in the Pale Malty European Lager category at the 2026 PA Farm Show. Bru Daddy's also won a silver medal at last year's US Open Beer Championship for its Pastry Fiend Key Lime Pie fruited sour ale.
Like Fegley's, Bru Daddy's is a multi-generational family business, run by the father-son team of Rich and Kevin Ryan.
So those are the highlights of the crawl. You can call it a day at that point or continue on to check out other places (mostly sports bars given the proximity to the PPL Center) such as Sports & Social, Big Woody's, Chickie's & Pete's, The Dime, Pennsylvania Rye, etc. Send me your suggestions. Phantoms game at 7 vs. the Cleveland Monsters if anyone's interested.
Singles, couples, "it's complicated', you're all welcome to join us. Please note: this is our own event, not a public event. And if you'll be doing something a bit more romantic with your significant other, that's fine too. But if not, see you there!26 attendees
Another New Venue: Bethlehem Barrel and Drafthouse at Wind Creek
Bethlehem Barrel & Drafthouse, 77 Wind Creek Blvd, Bethlehem, PA, USWe're going to beat the winter doldrums by visiting another newish venue in the Lehigh Valley: the Bethlehem Barrel and Drafthouse in the Outlets at Wind Creek complex in Bethlehem.
Opened in August 2025, this new craft gastropub isn't a brewery or winery but it features a rotating selection of Pennsylvania microbrews on tap, from the Lehigh Valley and around the state. It also boasts an extensive selection of ryes and bourbons, a craft cocktail menu and wines from France and California.
Food is "elevated pub fare", think apps, salads, sandwiches, burgers and comfort-food entrees.
It's a new place to check out and experience so we'll see what it's all about.
