Oktoberfest Beer & Wine Crawl at the Mall

Details
The final weekend of Oktoberfest is traditionally the first weekend of October. We'll celebrate in our own unique way with a visit to the Lehigh Valley Mall and a sampling of its beer and wine offerings.
We'll get things started with our first ever visit to the Iron Hill Brewery's sole Lehigh Valley location. Founded in Newark, Delaware in 1996, Iron Hill has established on-site craft breweries with scratch kitchens at multiple locations throughout the Philadelphia area. It's also expanded south into South Carolina and Georgia. It opened its Lehigh Valley Mall venue in July 2024. Iron Hill brews its beers onsite at each location, using tried-and-true recipes, and adds gourmet food to the mix.
Iron Hill is hosting its own Oktoberfest from September 19 to October 6 featuring "chef-crafted, Bavarian-inspired food specials" and their Iron Hill Oktoberfest Lager.
From there, we'll walk three stores down in the Lehigh Valley Mall's Lifestyle Center to the Blue Ridge Estate Winery's new Lehigh Valley outpost. Just opened in late August, this new wine shop and tasting room features more than 30 wines (including several German/Austrian-style Rieslings) plus brick oven pizza and a truffle bar.
We'll cap off the day in the main part of the mall with a visit to Dunderbak's German restaurant. A fixture in the mall since 1977, this could be the last Oktoberfest for Dunderbak's. Its owners are in their late 70s and ready to retire, so are planning to close or transfer the business to a new owner by February.
We'll start at Iron Hill at 12:30. Feel free to join us anywhere along the way.
See you there!
