We're in the season of shorter days, cooler weather and colorful foliage so it's time for another trail walk followed by a brewery visit.

This time we'll head to Catasauqua to walk some of the D&L Trail, then repair to Taylor House Brewing for beer, food and good times. We'll get started at 1 p.m. and plan to walk the North Catasauqua to Catasauqua leg of the trail, about 3 miles out and back. Nice and easy. Meet and park at the North Catasauqua Trailhead, parking lot behind the North Catasauqua Public Works building, (1460 Main St., Catasauqua). We'll walk south to the Deily Coal Yard in downtown Catasauqua and back. Then we'll drive the short distance from the rally point to the brewery.

Taylor House Brewing, named after George Taylor, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, whose house is just across the road from the brewery, opened in Catasauqua in June 2018. Its Vanilla Gorilla vanilla porter might be its most famous pour. Other beers on tap include a Belgian-style wit, Dutch-style lager, blueberry ale, multiple IPAs and a German-style Oktoberfest lager. We'll be there the day after they tap their Dark American Wheat Ale and Pumpkin Latte Cream Ale. Food truck is Cone Appetit, think comfort foods in bread cones. Yum!

Join us at 1 for the trail walk or catch up with us at the brewery by 2:30ish (they don't open until 2).

See you there!
