Valentine's Day Brew Crawl in Downtown Allentown
Details
If Philly, New York and even Baltimore can have Valentine's Day bar crawls, then so can Allentown. So join us for the inaugural Allentown Valentine's Day Brew Crawl as we visit downtown Allentown's two breweries and maybe some other places along the way.
We'll start the day off at the award-winning Fegley's Allentown Brew Works. This is the second Fegley's location, opened in 2007, nine years after their flagship brewery in downtown Bethlehem.
Fegley's Allentown brewery is in the old Harold's Furniture Store space. It may not be there for too much longer. The Fegley family is selling the building (it's still on the market as I write this) and the brewery will likely vacate the space once the building changes hands.
Fegley's recently won four medals at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Beer Competition, more than any other Lehigh Valley brewery, including: First place in Belgian Ale for Steelgaarden Wit; first place in Amber Lager for Fegley's Amber Lager; second place in Pale American Ale for Valley Golden Ale; and second place in IPA for Bethlehem Red Ale.
After beer and lunch (and maybe a brewery tour) at Fegley's, we'll head half a block down the street to downtown Allentown's other brewery, Bru Daddy's. Bru Daddy's has been a downtown Allentown fixture since 2019, when it originally opened as Hop Daddy's. After a trademark dispute, it's been Bru Daddy's since 2020.
Its Gold Lager took silver in the Pale Malty European Lager category at the 2026 PA Farm Show. Bru Daddy's also won a silver medal at last year's US Open Beer Championship for its Pastry Fiend Key Lime Pie fruited sour ale.
Like Fegley's, Bru Daddy's is a multi-generational family business, run by the father-son team of Rich and Kevin Ryan.
So those are the highlights of the crawl. You can call it a day at that point or continue on to check out other places (mostly sports bars given the proximity to the PPL Center) such as Sports & Social, Big Woody's, Chickie's & Pete's, The Dime, Pennsylvania Rye, etc. Send me your suggestions. Phantoms game at 7 vs. the Cleveland Monsters if anyone's interested.
Singles, couples, "it's complicated', you're all welcome to join us. Please note: this is our own event, not a public event. And if you'll be doing something a bit more romantic with your significant other, that's fine too. But if not, see you there!
