Workshop Session #1 - The meaning of life 2.0
Details
Following the great interest and full attendance of the previous seminar, The Meaning of Life returns in a new format.
This time, the experience has been redesigned as an interactive open-air workshop, inviting participants not only to listen but also to think, share, and explore together.
From the earliest moments of human reflection, people have asked a question as simple as it is profound: What is the meaning of life? Why are we here?
Philosophers across centuries have approached this question in different ways. Socrates believed that a meaningful life begins with examination and dialogue. Aristotle suggested that human purpose lies in eudaimonia, a life of flourishing, developed through virtue and participation in community.
Existentialist thinkers such as Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir challenged the idea of a predetermined meaning altogether, arguing that meaning emerges through our choices, our relationships, and the responsibility we take for our freedom.
In this open-air workshop, we will explore these perspectives together through conversation, reflection, and small group exchanges. Rather than offering a single answer, philosophy invites us into a shared inquiry where each person can reflect on their own understanding of purpose, happiness, responsibility, and freedom.
The workshop will take place outdoors in the park, creating a relaxed space for thinking together: an open-air classroom for adults.
Whether you are curious about philosophy or simply interested in reflecting on life’s deeper questions, you are warmly welcome.
