Budapest Silent Book Club: Monthly Book Club – The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood

Details
Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Monthly Book Club — the discussion edition of the Budapest Silent Book Club for those who enjoy reading the same book and sharing thoughts together.
Each month, we usually choose a short book or novella (under 200 pages) — something easy to finish even the day before the meetup 😅. The focus is on light, accessible reads and relaxed, fun conversations.
This time, we’ll be reading The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood — a bold and imaginative retelling of The Odyssey through the voice of Penelope, blending mythology, feminism, and dark humor.
🕕 Time: 18:00–20:00 – Group discussion about the book (no silent reading hour this time)
📍 Location: Zaj Café
I’ll prepare some discussion questions, but everyone’s thoughts are welcome. Whether you loved the book, found it confusing, or haven’t finished it — you’re invited.
