Budapest Silent Book Club – Monthly Book: The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly

Details
Hello everyone,
Welcome to the Monthly Book Club — the discussion edition of the Budapest Silent Book Club for those who enjoy reading the same book and sharing thoughts together.
Each month, we pick a short book or novella (under 200 pages) — something light and easy to finish, even the day before the meetup 😅. The focus is on accessible reads and relaxed, thoughtful conversations.
This time, we’ll be reading The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly (2000) by Sun-mi Hwang. This beloved Korean classic tells the story of Sprout, a hen who escapes her caged life with a fervent dream: to hatch her own egg and raise a chick. It's a powerful and moving fable about freedom, motherhood, individuality, and the courage to defy expectations.
🕕 Time: 18:00–20:00 – Group discussion about the book (no silent reading hour this time)
📍 Location: Altair Teaház (An image of the location is available)
I’ll bring a few discussion prompts, but everyone’s thoughts are welcome. Whether you loved the book, found it strange, or didn’t manage to finish — you’re invited.
