About the Speaker

Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche is a renowned Dzogchen master of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Born in Lhodrak, Tibet, he came to India in 1960 and later studied at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies in Sarnath, graduating with the Acharya degree and receiving a silver medal from His Holiness the Dalai Lama for academic excellence. A close disciple of great masters such as HH Dudjom Rinpoche, HH Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, and HH Penor Rinpoche, he was enthroned as Khenpo in 1983. For decades he has taught the Dharma worldwide and guided many practitioners on the path of wisdom and compassion. His warmth, wisdom, and easy humor have made him a beloved teacher wherever he goes. Among his disciples he is affectionately known as Khenchen Guru.
