KITO BLESSING

Kito Blessing
In Nichiren Shu a special blessing is performed by ministers who have gone to a Aragyo monastery for special training (Shuho Shi). This blessing helps eliminate problems in our lives by removing illusions. Those having difficulty overcoming obstacles in their lives, such as health problems, job security and prosperity can receive this blessing to help them with their practice. The minister uses a wooden sword (boken) to cut illusions and a copy of the lotus Sutra in scroll form to bless them. This scroll used in the blessing was copied by the minister while in the Aragyo monastery.

This special ceremony will be held once a month. Because of the special nature of this ceremony it is not broadcast on ZOOM. If you cannot make it to the Temple, we suggest making an appointment with Ryoen Shonin for a personal ZOOM session.

Ryoen Shonin went through the Aragyo monastery located at Saijo Inari, and graduated as a Shuho Shi in 2003. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask her.

* We do ask for a donation for receiving a Kito Blessing of at least $15.00. You will receive the blessing and a special Ofuda (amulet) of the Kito Honzon for your home altar. The object of worship for this ceremony (Kito Honzon) is the protective deities of the Dharma enshrined in our Temple.
