Five Points Bakery - 9am in Buffalo
Five Points Bakery, 426 Rhode Island Street, Buffalo, NY 14213, NY, USWe’re meeting at Five Points Bakery & Toast Cafe in Buffalo and we can chat all things WordPress ...or not, as we see fit. This is an informal gathering to get to know one another and talk shop.
There were four of us at Kaylena Marie’s Bakery in East Amherst for our previous breakfast. Among other things we discussed:
- Increasing capacity on a turnstile widget
- Moving form Gmail to Proton Mail for greater privacy and security https://proton.me/mail
- Sites that aren’t maintained or that are changed significantly after they’re published
- Creating video transcripts for sites
- 301 redirect
- How to establish pricing, i.e., hourly vs per project. Current market rates.
- How to create a PDF from a web page, either via Custom Post Types or with a plugin, app or extension.
- Ideas/resources to use a blog to publish a newsletter.
- This Naked Mind https://thisnakedmind.com/this-naked-mind/
- The Grieving Brain Book https://maryfrancesoconnor.org/books/the-grieving-brain
- The penguin theory
- Chirp audiobooks https://www.chirpbooks.com/
- BookBub https://www.bookbub.com/
- Hoopla digital https://www.hoopladigital.com/
I schedule these events at different venues around WNY so everyone can join if they want (and don't want to drive half an hour first thing on a Thursday). If there's another neighborhood or coffee house you'd like me to plan for, put it in the chat. I'm always up for finding new local coffee places.
