We’re meeting at Paula’s Donuts of Larkin in Buffalo and we can chat all things WordPress ...or not, as we see fit. This is an informal gathering to get to know one another and talk shop.

There were six of us plus a bonus add-on at Five Points in Buffalo for our previous breakfast at Five Points Bakery. Among other things we discussed:

  • How to price your services on Upwork
  • Filtering Upwork for US based jobs
  • Adding a video to your Upwork profile to attract clients
  • Switching to Groc from ChatGPT for security concerns of ChatGTP monitoring and sharing data about its users
  • Using Copilot to build Excel spreadsheets
  • Carley's FRIENDworking group via Alignable. Their next meeting is April 2
  • Updating PHP in old sites when it's not automatically done by your host
  • Finding WPMeetups via the dashboard widget and on WP Buffalo's website
  • Using page builders vs Gutenberg
  • Elementor's strength at responsiveness and the ability to add screen sizes
  • Beaver Builder's strengths of responsiveness, modules, ease of use, CSS / js editor, places to put head / header / body code and conditional capabilities
  • Financial teaching apps

I schedule these events at different venues around WNY so everyone can join if they want (and don't want to drive half an hour first thing on a Thursday). If there's another neighborhood or coffee house you'd like me to plan for, put it in the chat. I'm always up for finding new local coffee places.
