What we’re about
Have you ever wanted to make your own video game? Come join us to do just that, and many other fun game related things, at the Buffalo Game Space, Western New York's premier Indie Game Developers group. The Game Space aspires to create a place where artists, musicians, coders, and designers can freely collaborate and create games of all types. Whether you're already a professional in the field or just want to try your hand at something exciting and new, Buffalo Game Space welcomes members of all backgrounds and experience levels. We have recently moved into the Trimain where we held a variety of events: Bi-Weekly meetups, talks with industry veterans, Game Jams, Arcade nights, and so much more. Our new space allows us to offer Coworking Space, Workshops, and equipment sharing. If you are interested in becoming a member of Buffalo Game Space please head over to our website to learn more. Come join the forums to talk with some great local developers today.

Make a game with the rest of the world on the weekend of January 30th for Global Game Jam 2026! We want you to come create something awesome with us. No matter your skill level or interests, if you ever wanted to create art, music, or code for a game this is the perfect time to do it.
This year, Buffalo Game Space is once again partnering with University at Buffalo to host Global Game Jam 2026! The event will be run in the Center for the Arts atrium. The site will open 6pm on Friday with the goal of making games by the deadline on Sunday. Electricity, wifi, food, and snacks will be provided.
You'll be in the company of fellow designers, programmers, artists, modelers, animators, musicians, and all other creatives as we come together and make fun new games over the weekend. Whether you've made 100 games or never made a game before, this event is open to all skill and experience levels.
Experienced mentors will be available throughout to help break down the barriers of game development and make the experience a success for all who attend.
Be sure to join our Discord server, too, if you want to stay in touch with us before then!
Please note we're still finalizing the specific location on campus for the jam. We will update this announcement when it is known.4 attendees
