Bugs (and friends) appreciation crew hangout and picnic!

Hello! After doing our first event at Steigerwald and never quite making it into the forested area we decided to go ahead and schedule our next event for the same spot. I’m making it a little earlier and a little longer, though folks are always welcome to leave when it works for them.

So for this one: we’ll try our best to make it to the wooded area with enough time to explore the whole art trail! We also would love to have folks pack a lunch so we can stop and have a picnic somewhere along the way.

For our event on 8/29 we saw tons of beautiful birds, a mama deer with twin fawns, frogs, wooly bear caterpillars (Old Wive’s Tale says we’re in for a mild winter based on their stripes), and of course some cool bugs. And along the way we had a great time getting to know one another. I’ll say I’m absolutely loving this little community that’s forming, so thank you for showing up and sharing your time with the group!

Steigerwald has a mixture of temps, plus Fall in the PNW is always a bit all over the place, so be prepared for wind, sun, drizzle, cooler temps, warmer temps…
