What we’re about
Are you sick of people telling you that just because you have kids, you've lost your writing mojo? Is it even worse - are you starting to believe them? This is the group for you. We will help you get back on creative track - and stay there!
Pen Parentis (a 501c3 literary nonprofit) - google us! - is connecting parents who write in a series of meet-ups to talk everything writing with kids: we will discuss time, energy, guilt, balance, and yes, even money!
Run by published writers who are also parents, this is where you meet other people who are serious about their writing (no matter where you are in your creative career) - and who have kids (no matter how old they are) -- people who KNOW how hard it is and who WILL overcome those difficulties in order to publish! We are inclusive: we accept everyone regardless of family situation or race or creed or sexual preference or gender. We just want WRITERS who are parents to SUCCEED.
Having children affects your resources. It does NOT affect your talent, and don't let anyone tell you any different. Come join us.
**we ask for suggested donation at the meetings but it is not required to participate. Donations are tax deductible and are used to keep the organization afloat and to pay for things like fees for this Meetup listing! There is no fee for Title Members of Pen Parentis (those who support us with a monthly or annual donation). For more on membership, visit our website.
