Building A Home For The Homeless!

Details
Hey everyone!
This is our fourth community build day! Our timeline has been extended until May to finish building this home. Please reach out if you would like to help us before the build day.
We are a passionate team of volunteers, engineers, and organizers constructing a tiny home for someone living unhoused. On Saturday, April 12th, we will have a community volunteer event!
At this event, we will finish attaching the roof trusses, add the roof overhangs, sheath the roof with plywood, and wrap the walls and roof in house wrap. This will be a fun volunteer opportunity with a community lunch, time to socialize, and an experience to learn about the work happening in Portland.
These events are a collaboration between Recycled Living and Cultivate Initiatives to build more affordable, sustainable, and livable homes for Safe Rest Villages in Portland. On our previous build days, we made the foundation, framed the four walls, and added the roof trusses. On April 12th we will pick up where we left off!
We will get started at 11:00am as we set up a free lunch, including donations from local businesses everyone involved. We will have more team leaders and supervisors than at previous events. No prior experience is necessary, and everyone can help as they are able.
After the work party, we will have a closing event to hear from volunteers and share further ways to get involved in this amazing community of Portlanders. We hope this event brings lasting warmth and excitement to those who care about our city and everyone who lives here. We can't wait to see you again if you were at the November, February, or March events, and we're excited to meet you if this will be your first time!
