Case study: AI-based SDLC Hackathon
An inspiring successful AI-first, human-in-the-loop, vibe coding, spec driven development, and agent-led engineering real world project. For a giant financial entity!
PS: Due to confidentiality agreements, the client’s name will remain undisclosed during the session.
The story – The signal out of the noise
Our guests rewrote a subset of features of a 10-year-old legacy application, completely unknown to them, with no existing documentation. No interaction with the client’s team. Nothing. Only a repository containing hundreds of thousands of lines of code.
This modernization project, which traditionally would have taken months, was architected, verified, and validated in just 3 days.
Against the clock, a lean team (1 PO, 1 UX, 2 Devs, 1 QA, 1 DevOps) won the challenge by strategically governing AI throughout every phase of the lifecycle.
Raising questions
The project raises critical questions:
How did they comprehend and map the logic so quickly?
How was a multidisciplinary team unified in real time?
How did they maintain a relentless feedback loop while adhering to strict enterprise standards and regulations?
How were AI technologies and toolchains effectively integrated to drive this level of performance?
And perhaps most importantly: what did those 72 hours actually look like?
Agenda
