12 attendeesHartford Hushed Hangs
Filley Park, Bloomfield, CT, USLed by Building the Rainbow member and social worker Rey, this event series -- Hartford Hushed Hangs -- focuses on providing a warm, quiet space for folks to quietly engage in hobbies like reading, knitting, or just relaxing. With a limit of ten group members total, we welcome you to bring your favorite low-key activity and enjoy being alone, but in the company of others.
The first and last half hours (11:00-11:30 A.M., and 1:30-2:00 P.M.) will be open to conversation, whether you want to get to know other group members, chat about your latest artistic pursuits, or just catch up. Throughout the rest of the event, we ask folks to be quiet and enjoy comfortable silence while reading a book, journaling, crocheting, or anything else you like to keep your hands and mind busy. Talking is not explicitly discouraged, but the expectation is to enjoy company without having to say anything or keep a conversation going.
Feel free to come late or leave early if you're not interested in having any talking time. It's okay!
FOOD: Feel free to bring a snack or beverage for yourself.
ACCESSIBILITY: TBA
ANIMALS: While we love furry friends, please leave your dogs (or leashed cats) at home for Hushed Hangs.
SUBSTANCES: As always, this is a substance-free event to support our friends in recovery. Please do not bring alcoholic beverages of any kind or cannabis in any form. Thanks for understanding!
COMMUNICATION: Please make sure you have joined our Discord server and check in with #hushed-hartford-hangs for more details and information.
