What we’re about
The Bune Companions is a membership-based magickal organisation bringing together researchers, practitioners and the curious from across London and the south-east to discuss topics related to spiritualism, monotheistic and non-monotheistic religions, esotericism, shamanism, alternative spirituality and the occult.

Love is the law!
We're assembling a team. The Bune Companions are named for Duke Bune, 26th or 23rd spirit of the Key of Solomon and known for their relatively warm relations with mortals. We're trying to fill a gap that seems to exist in England today. Inspired by the Airedale Valley Moot in West Yorkshire (shoutout @folkmythandmagick on instagram!), we're hoping to help demystify and make more accessible the practice of ceremonial magick, shamanism and the occult in London and the South-east.
All of us are mere seekers; we take what we do seriously and want to learn by doing. We're not aiming to practice occultism recklessly, but to create a space for careful practice, experimentation, research, study and group learning which can make us all more powerful. This applies as much to "safer" practices like visualisation, mantra japa and meditation as it does to invocation and theurgy.
We also want to make it fun, with music, movies, singing (e.g. kirtan), dancing and more being part of our intended events programming. Cultural practices like these form an essential part of real, embodied magickal practice and spirituality. We'll also aim for hands-on skills-based workshops such as High John soap and candlemaking, metal casting and more. As part of seva (selfless service), we'll even try to organise *langar *nights for mutual aid.
This inaugural online organising call is for anyone curious to know more or get involved - bring your ideas, your questions and concerns! All are welcome.
- Film Night: The Holy Mountain [ONLINE]Link visible for attendees
Hello and welcome to our first inaugural film night! We're all on spiritual quests, so to kick things off we've got Alejandro Jodorowsky's esoteric 1973 masterpiece, The Holy Mountain.
Based on Ascent of Mount Carmel by John of the Cross and Mount Analogue by René Daumal (a student of George Gurdjieff), Jodorowsky's psychadelic marvel provides a highly visual, stylistic set of allegories for the timeless journey of spiritual seekers from initiates to masters (in one sense of that term). The Holy Mountain is perhaps the best showcase of the fruits of Jodorowsky's years of study of the Marseille Tarot.
Check back here on the night for the link to our digital viewing room. I'll make some short remarks beforehand introducing the film, and we'll have a short online discussion group just after. See you on the night!
