Burnaby/Coquitlam Women - Friendship & Fun for Fab 50+ Women

Welcome to BURNABY/COQUITLAM Women!   Our group is designed for women 50+ who want to join a vibrant, supportive, friendly group where we create new friendships, build community, and attend different events & activities in a fun, safe environment.

The majority of our events are held in Burnaby, New Westminster & Coquitlam. We intentionally keep our events small to encourage real conversations & connections.

Annual Membership is $12​ payable by etransfer or PayPal.

NEW MEMBERS

• Are welcome to attend one event first, before paying the $12 Membership fee. Payment is required to attend future events.
• If you sign up to the group but are inactive and do not attend any events in the following 3 months you will be removed from the group.
• We do ask that, on your profile you use your real first name with last name initial
• Post a clear unobstructed picture of your face (no hiding behind sunglasses, other people, pets or hats that obstruct the face). The reasons for this are, first and foremost, for safety's sake, to help your new community and event hosts know who you are, and build a stronger group of friends.

GUIDELINES

1. Members are considered active when membership is paid and kept current.  Inactive members may be removed to make room for those who want to join! If you join us and then do not attend any event in the following 4 months you may be removed form the group.

2. Organizers and event coordinators who plan events are Volunteers, please respect them and other members.

3. Please make sure to turn on your Notifications & Emails so that you will be up-to-date with any announcements, upcoming events & changes to attending events. Also check for Messages on the Meetup site.

4. 👉 Please be kind & keep your RSVP updated.  ONLY sign up for an event if you are certain you can attend it. 

If your plans change & you cannot make it, please change your RSVP immediately. All RSVPs should be updated 48 hours before an event (excluding emergencies). This will allow anyone on the Waitlist to attend.

If you're on the Waitlist, please check & stay up to date with your status. Make sure you have your settings on to receive notifications because when someone cancels you will automatically be moved onto the Attendees List, often with short notice. It is your responsibility to stay up to date, so you'll know to attend. I hate for you to miss out.

5. If you NO SHOW an event that will be noted and if you have 2 no show's (excluding emergencies) you may be removed from the group.  Chronic last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hrs) may also be removed from the group.

Please adhere to the guidelines above and be aware that you can be removed from the group at my discretion as Organizer of Burnaby/Coquitlam Women if I feel that anyone is anything less than respectful to our Group, Hosts and Members.

Organizers and event coordinators plan events. If you would like to host an event let me know. We eagerly welcome suggestions for events and venues.

WAIVER
1. Members attend events at their own discretion and assume full responsibility for their personal safety and well-being, both during and after the event. Please drink responsibly and ensure you have a safe means of transportation.

2. The host/group/organizer is hereby released from any and all liabilities, obligations, and responsibilities towards attendees, both now and in perpetuity.

3. By RSVPing to any event, you are acknowledging that you have read and understood the terms of this waiver and agree to abide by them.
