The world is moving ever faster and getting ever more complex. What we learn today can likely be obsolete tomorrow. No one person can ever have all the answers and more often than not the right answer depends on the context (and also making sure you ask the right question!).
At this Meetup we’ll be exploring the ideas behind Learning 3.0 (http://www.learning30.co/) a book authored by our friend Alexandre Magno. The key message behind the book is that learning in the modern age is an emergent process and no one person has all the answers. Previously we looked to a single expert/teacher to tell us what to do and spoon feed knowledge to us (Learning 1.0). We then transitioned to experts/teachers who first tried to understand our context and needs before providing what THEY believed to be the best answers and suggestions (Learning 2.0). However, now the problems we tackle can be so complex or nuanced that it takes a collective effort to discover the right answer (Learning 3.0).
In true Learning 3.0 style we will be using Alex's Learning Canvas to describe his Learning Canvas and look to the group to share their experiences of learning new skills and solving hard problems in the 21st century. The question we'd like to answer is "How do we create effective learning in a complex world?".
