This year the criteria for your book should be a book you read this year that you really enjoyed. It doesn't have to have been published this year, just a book that you read during the year.
1. BUY your favorite book from the above criteria and wrap it up. Do not put your name on it.
2. BUY a cute bookmark or a bookish type ornament! Something that a book lover will love! Include that in your wrapped gift.
The tradition is known as Jolabokaflod, which translates roughly to "Christmas book flood" in English.
Jolabokaflod started during World War II, when paper was one of the few things not rationed in Iceland.
