Speaker Bio:
Dilan Perera, Chief Artificial Intelligence (AI) Officer, Bendigo Kangan Institute
Dilan Perera is the Chief AI Officer at Bendigo Kangan Institute, the first such appointment in the Australian education sector. He leads enterprise AI strategy and one of the most advanced enterprise AI programs in education, focused on embedding AI as a core organisational capability.
His work focuses on scaling human-centred AI, designing AI-enabled operating models, and building the data, governance, and technology foundations required to deploy AI responsibly and at scale.
Dilan also contributes to multiple AI advisory committees and taskforces shaping state and national approaches to AI capability, adoption, and policy, including through forums linked to the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions and the Future Skills Organisation.
He brings over 20 years of executive leadership experience across customer, technology, and digital transformation in banking, insurance, and energy. He is known for translating strategy into execution and delivering measurable operational and commercial outcomes through technology-led innovation.
