Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the exciting atmosphere of King. Chit chat with fellow gaming enthusiasts, developers, and industry professionals, and collect some sweet swag.
18.45 - 19.15 : 1st Talk - C++20 for the Kingdom.

19.15 - 19.30 : Q&A with King’s Developers.
19.30 - 20.10 : 2nd Talk – What is Seastar? - an advanced asynchronous C++ framework for writing high-performance systems.
Ivan Prisyazhnyy, Senior Sofware Engineer at Workato, a former ScyllaDB. We will talk about what is Seastar and what it is good, look at its design and how it addresses high-performance problems in designing highly scalable server-side applications, grasp the high-level mechanics of its implementation, and give a quick start guide. By the end of this talk, you will have an understanding of when to use it, how to start using it, and what problems Seastar can help you with.
The most known Seastar users are ScyllaDB, RedPanda and Ceph. All achieved x10 improvement either in throughput, latency, and utilization compared to their famous OSS alternatives.
Seastar offers a complete asynchronous programming framework, which uses two concepts - futures and continuations - to uniformly represent, and handle, every type of asynchronous event, including network I/O, disk I/O, and complex combinations of other events.
This is an introductory-level talk. No previous hard-core knowledge is required.
