Josh Hurd ( josh@fedalytics.com ) is committed to helping businesses, government, and other organizations make better decisions by unifying analytics, data, and strategy. He was educated in public policy and economics at Dartmouth College and received a master’s degree from the University of Chicago. Josh has analyzed economic impacts for non-profit organizations, served as an analyst for the Government Accountability Office (GAO), and founded a tech startup that used public transit data to provide arrival predictions. He currently is a strategy and operations consultant for Deloitte and in his spare time enjoys dabbling in projects such as Fedalytics.

HDScores aggregates publicly available government health department inspection data from local and state jurisdictions. Tackling the "Big Data" issues of standardizing and normalizing data sets from 3200+ Jurisdictions into a single easy to read and search database. Roughly 100 million historical reports exist and approximately 4 million new reports generated annually. Creating a Platform for distribution of this data to various clients and users.

Matthew Eierman is a Chef turned Entrepreneur, with degrees in Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry Arts and almost a decade in the food service industry and 3 years of running a b2b financial services company before founding HDScores in January of 2012.

Chris Tonjes - Chief Information Officer of the City of Baltimore

Chris is going to talk about Baltimore's open data source, Open Baltimore, as well as some of the challenges of making government data available more generally.

Prior to becoming CIO of Baltimore, Chris held a number of IT-related positions within local government including Director of IT for the District of Columbia Public Library (DCPL) system as well as for the DC government itself.
