The Website Ahead Contains Malware! - CMS Security and Hack Recovery

Details

In a change to the schedule programme, we focus on website hacks - how to protect against a hack, and approaches for dealing with hacks when they occur.

Anyone who has had a website hacked will know the heartache this can cause - both in the short term, and the lasting impact it can have on your web business.

There is of course the initial panic when you realise your site has been hacked. Then there are the challenges of trying to find out how the site has been hacked and its impact, and managing the communications with both your hosting engineers and your clients as the hack is resolved. And there are also the longer term issues related to your site being blacklisted by Search Engines and anti-virus services.

Marcus J Wilson of Pooka.Pro discusses the dangers of hosting a website and how to mitigate against hacks, and approaches to ensure that you are ready to deal with hacks when they happen.

The session will focus on Wordpress, but will contain information relevant to other Open Source CMS platforms.
