Hello and welcome to our first computer science paper reading club - the Paper Cup!

The format of Paper Cup meetings is as follows:

  1. You read the selected white paper at home,
  2. You come to the meetup in order to discuss the paper,
  3. We all vote on the next paper to read,
  4. repeat.

We'll be starting off with some of the classics that have changed todays world of computer science.

Required: The paper we'll be reading for this meetup is: "Dynamo: Amazon’s Highly Available Key-value Store" (2007) (http://www.allthingsdistributed.com/files/amazon-dynamo-sosp2007.pdf).

Bonus: We've also found the "How to read a Paper (http://ccr.sigcomm.org/online/files/p83-keshavA.pdf)" paper quite interesting for a first if you've never previously read a scientific publication, or if you have a minute to spare - it's only 2 pages long! :-)

We'll have food and drinks prepared for you.

Hint: It's recommended to bring a copy of the pdf with you to the meeting for reference.
