4th. IoT, Built Environment & Smart City meeting.

Details
Next April 9th. is once again WW-IoT.day; last year some 35 meetings have been organized worldwide (http://postscapes.com/april-9th-celebrate-2014-iot-day) and no doubt this year the number will increase further. After 3 successful conferences in Rotterdam in 2011 (http://v2.nl/events/one-day-conference-the-internet-of-things), 2013 (http://www.iotrotterdam.nl) and 2014 (http://www.iotrotterdam.eu) this upcoming 4th. edition will be held as a MeetUp hosted by the MeetUp-Group IoT & Built Environment in Rotterdam.
There is an increasing awareness that the developments in technology and media will/have created a hybrid environment which incorporates our built environment, hence including architecture. Next to this the discussions concerning the ‘smart city’ still are to much focused on technology as such, neglecting the fact that it is the informed/participating citizen who should play the primary role.
Together with a companying program at WdKA/Spatial Design and HR/Comm.&Media a variety of speakers will present the current state of affairs and discuss some promising developments in architecture, its role and the consequences for the ‘smart city’ and - above all - its citizens.
