Cinema Museum - Open House

Details
The Cinema Museum
For any level of photographer and those who film lovers, the Cinema Museum (http://www.cinemamuseum.org.uk/) is a treasure trove of artefacts, memorabilia and equipment that preserves the history of cinema from the 1890s to the present day. This is one of London's best kept secrets and hidden gems. Not only will we be capturing the building that was an old Lambeth Workhouse. We will photograph Open House visitors interacting with the Museum and it’s objects as well as peoples' reactions to tour guides as they share their wonderful stories. Later there will be dance, food and film so we will photographing this event in this amazing location. This is a great opportunity to capture the very spirit of the Museum and therefore cinematic history. Architecture, people, objects, food, dancing and cinema …. it’s the Full Monty!

What we will shoot
There will be two parts to the day, the first part will be to document this gorgeous museum, it's artefacts and Open House. The second part, from 6.30pm, there is a showing of Mustang, a powerful Turkish film about female empowerment (98% on the Tomatometer (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/mustang_2015/)) is being shown with live Turkish music.
What you need
• A DSLR, compact or mirrorless camera
• It would be handy if you bring a tripod, a monopod or failing that, have hands of a surgeon - natural light is a little low in the Museum so some camera stability would be good
• You can bring one or a range of many lenses from macro (close shots of projectors), portrait lens and wide angle to capture the building itself
• A flash or a camera capable of high ISO
What you will learn
• This is event photography so capturing people
• Getting in close whilst also being discrete
• Visual storytelling of the day in the life of one of London’s most amazing museums
• Following the shoot, I will ask you to upload 3 images so I can review and provide feedback
This event will be led by Phil (http://www.philipmoran.com/) (@JammyDodgered (https://twitter.com/JammyDodgered)), his experience includes photographic study of architecture in its abstract form, creative portraiture and organic subjects. Phil’s (https://www.flickr.com/photos/68973215@N07/) more recent work has encompassed event photography that involved leading small teams of photographers to deliver a single package of images to the client. Fun, informative, visual adventures are what Phil likes to create.
We look forward to seeing you!
