With the recent explosion of client-side applications, a whole new world of security vulnerabilities now affects every fancy React and Ember app that we write. Alex will cover the root causes of common vulnerabilities and try to convince you that solving for all of them is hopeless. Then we'll hopefully get to talk about some new approaches to client-side security that flip the normal way of thinking, and hopefully can do a better job protecting us into the future.
Alex Sexton lives in Austin TX, and is an engineer at Stripe (https://stripe.com). He is on the modernizr (http://modernizr.com) core team and the jQuery Board of Directors (https://jquery.org/team).
His recent favorite projects include the messageformat.js i18n library and the require-handelbars-plugin (https://github.com/SlexAxton/require-handlebars-plugin). He also runs the Texas JavaScript Conference (TXJS) (http://texasjavascript.com) annually in Austin, and helps organize the Austin JavaScript (http://austinjavascript.com) monthly meetup.
