We have several issues with the government intruding in our lives, one of them is Common Core. This month the The Libertarian Party of Pinellas County is hosting guest speaker, Dr. Karen Effrem, from The Florida Stop Common Core Coalition.

The LPPC will be serving Old Fashioned Homemade Beef Stew from 6pm to 7pm followed by the monthly meeting with the presentation from Dr. Effrem. This Free Event is open to the public, and all political affiliations are welcome. (Donations appreciated)

The Florida Stop Common Core Coalition is a rapidly growing, statewide organization that has united parents, grandparents, teachers, small business owners, and concerned citizens from many points on the political, religious, and philosophical spectra. All united in our opposition to the Common Core system of standards, tests, and data collection because that system will harm the quality of education in Florida, violate our children's, families', and teacher's privacy rights, deny state sovereignty and local control, and be unsustainably expensive.

Invite your friends and neighbors who may not be fully aware of the impact that the full implementation of Common Core State Standards will have on our children and our communities. It's not too late to learn more about how we can effectively coalesce on this issue with groups across Florida.

Dr. Karen Effrem is a pediatrician, researcher, and conference speaker. Dr. Effrem's medical degree is from Johns Hopkins University and her pediatric training from the University of Minnesota. She has provided testimony for Congress, as well as in-depth analysis of numerous pieces of major federal education, health, and early childhood legislation for congressional staff, state legislatures, and many organizations. Dr. Effrem serves on the boards of two national organizations: Education Liberty Watch and the Alliance for Human Research Protection. She is a member of The International Society for Ethical Psychiatry and Psychology.
