We're heading to Mossy Bluff National Nature Trail in Heber Springs for a scenic hike along the bluff overlooking the Little Red River, followed by an optional stop at Jitterbug Coffeehouse in downtown Heber Springs for coffee, lunch, treats and some good girl time. ❤️

### 🥾 THE HIKE: Mossy Bluff National Nature Trail

The Mossy Bluff Trail is approximately 1.6 miles round trip and begins right near the William Carl Garner Visitor Center.

The trail winds through the woods along a bluff above the Little Red River, with interesting rock formations and other natural features along the way. The highlight is the overlook at the end, where we'll get beautiful views of the Little Red River, Greers Ferry Dam and the fish hatchery.

There are 96 steps leading up to the overlook, so while this isn't a long hike, there is a stair climb and some uneven/rocky terrain. We'll take our time and enjoy the scenery—this is not a race!

Not up for the full trail? There is also the nearby Buckeye Trail, a short, paved, accessible trail with viewpoints, so there is an option for those who don't want to tackle the stairs and uneven sections.

### 📍 WHERE TO MEET

We'll meet at the William Carl Garner Visitor Center at:
700 Heber Springs Road North
Heber Springs, AR 72543
The Visitor Center is right next to the trail.. There are also public restrooms there.
Let's plan to meet at 10:00 AM so we can get organized, use the restroom if needed, and hit the trail together.

### 🚗 HOW FAR IS IT?

Heber Springs is approximately 1 hour from Cabot, depending on your starting point and traffic.

If you don't want to make the drive by yourself, let's work out some carpooling! Once we know who's coming, we can see who might be willing to drive and pair up ladies who live near each other. 🚗

If you'd like to carpool, just mention it when you RSVP or comment in the group and we'll help coordinate.

### 🎒 WHAT TO BRING

👟 Comfortable walking/hiking shoes — sneakers with a good tread should work, but leave the cute-but-slippery shoes at home! 😂
💧 Water — definitely bring your water bottle.
🧥 Layers — October weather can be beautiful but temperatures can change throughout the morning.
🕶️ Sunglasses/hat if needed.
📱 Your phone/camera — because we're going to want pictures at the overlook!

And of course, bring anything else you personally need to be comfortable on the trail.

### ☕ AFTER THE HIKE: JITTERBUG COFFEEHOUSE

After our hike, we're going to have the OPTION to head into downtown Heber Springs for coffee/lunch/treats at Jitterbug Coffeehouse.
Jitterbug Coffeehouse is just about a 5-10 minute drive from the hiking trail.

This part is completely optional—you can head home after the hike if you'd like, or join us for a little post-hike socializing! ☕🥪🍦

If you want to go to Jitterbug, you'll need to make arrangements with whoever you're riding with for the return trip. If you're driving yourself, obviously you're free to come and go as you please.

The coffee stop is really just an added opportunity to sit, relax, chat and enjoy each other's company after the hike! They also offer soups, sandwiches, and salads, besides the normal coffee house baked goods.

### 🍁 LET'S MAKE A DAY OF IT!

A beautiful fall hike + Arkansas scenery + good company + coffee afterward?

Sounds like a pretty great Saturday to me! ❤️

Come join us—even if you're not a serious hiker. We'll enjoy the trail at a comfortable group pace and have plenty of time to stop, take pictures and enjoy the view.

RSVP so we know who's coming!

And if you're interested in carpooling, please mention that too.

Can't wait to see you on the trail! 🥾🍂☕
