About us
Hello everyone, and welcome to the Cactus Childfree Discussion Group! My name is Hayley Watkins and I'll be leading the group.
This group is for everyone - female, male (both trans-inclusive) and enby - who's interested in exploring their feelings about going childless by choice.
Why "Cactus"? I'm a counsellor and I run Cactus Counselling. I don't believe that childfreedom is something to be 'fixed'; I'm passionate about the many different ways people choose to make a life for themselves, and those who choose not to have children are needing community spaces right now.
While this isn't designed as a social group, the group has a sense of community, and we welcome new members. It's currently an online group and is likely to remain so due to the sensitive nature of the topics that can be raised (the corner of a pub simply won't cut it), but I hope to offer in-person sessions one day.
