Childfree Workshop: Exploring Pressures to Have Children
Details
A 2-hour workshop running at Sunday lunchtime, where we'll explore the pressures placed on us to have children. I will facilitate deeper discussion about this by introducing a piece of psychology from the world of transactional analysis, called the Karpman Drama Triangle.
Childless and undecided folks are welcome. This is a mixed group, so not just women!
You don't need to bring anything, just yourselves. I will begin the group by inviting everyone to introduce themselves. Once this is done, I'll introduce the ego-state model, show how it relates to a decision not to have children, and will then open the session up for discussion. Childfree groups tend to be talkative, lively places, so I've no doubt there'll be plenty of talk!
**Group Safety**
Please note that the topics people bring to these groups can be sensitive, so I protect the boundaries of each group to ensure it feels psychologically safe. This means that I'll only allow people in for the first 10, to give everyone time to introduce themselves and decide what they feel safe to bring up. Therefore I do not admit latecomers.
