Childfree Workshop: Childfreedom and Regret
Details
A Sunday lunchtime workshop lasting 2 hours, in which I'll lead a discussion exploring the insistence of some parents that we will regret our choice not to have children. I'll invite deeper discussion on this for the session by introducing a piece of transactional analysis psychology called "strokes".
Childless and undecided folks are welcome. This is a mixed group, so not just women!
You don't need to bring anything, just yourselves. I will begin the group by inviting everyone to introduce themselves. Once this is done, I'll introduce the ego-state model, show how it relates to a decision not to have children, and will then open the session up for discussion. Childfree groups tend to be talkative, lively places, so I've no doubt there'll be plenty of talk!
**Group Safety**
Please note that the topics people bring to these groups can be sensitive, so I protect the boundaries of each group to ensure it feels psychologically safe. This means that I'll only allow people in for the first 10, to give everyone time to introduce themselves and decide what they feel safe to bring up. Therefore I do not admit latecomers.
