Starting IT with Linux: Hands-On Workshop (Linuxで始めるIT: 実践ワークショップ)

Hello everyone,

Welcome to our first Linux workshop for complete beginners!
Linux plays a pivotal role in today’s world, powering the servers of major corporations and serving as the backbone of AI systems. With the increasing importance of AI—which thrives in an open-source environment—Linux skills are more essential than ever. Tools and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Jupyter Notebooks are optimized for Linux, making it an indispensable platform for anyone interested in technology or AI.
That said, one of the challenges of adopting Linux is setting up the environment. Many of us are more familiar with Microsoft Windows or macOS, and as a result, we may have had limited opportunities to use Linux in our daily lives.
In this course, I’ll provide you with access to a remote Linux server hosted by a cloud server. This will allow you to practice Linux commands hands-on in a real-world environment. Learning to work on a remote Linux server is crucial, as most professional settings require this skill.
In the cloud environment, you can gain practical, hands-on experience with commands on an Ubuntu server.
If terms like "Ubuntu" sounds unfamiliar, don’t worry. This workshop is designed to introduce you to these concepts and show you how to use them effectively to expand your knowledge of Linux.
Throughout the session, I’ll guide you through both basic and advanced Linux commands to help you build a solid foundation for your IT career.

Introduction
Allow me to introduce myself. I have over ten years of experience in the IT industry. Last year, I worked as a Linux shell script developer and a backend Java developer. This year, I embarked on my dream career as an Android app developer.

Limited Attendees:
As this is my first experience teaching Linux commands, I would like to limit the number of students to just two to ensure better focus and engagement.

Linuxは現代社会において非常に重要な役割を果たしており、大手企業のサーバーを支えたり、AIシステムの基盤となったりしています。特に、オープンソース環境で進化するAIにおいては、Linuxのスキルはますます欠かせないものとなっています。TensorFlow、PyTorch、Jupyter NotebookといったツールやフレームワークはLinux環境で最適化されており、技術やAIに興味を持つすべての人にとってLinuxは必須のプラットフォームです。
とはいえ、Linuxを学習する際に直面する課題の一つは、環境をセットアップすることです。多くの方がMicrosoft WindowsやmacOSに慣れているため、日常生活でLinuxに触れる機会が少なかったかもしれません。
このコースでは、クラウドサービスを利用してリモートLinuxサーバーにアクセスできる環境を提供します。このサーバーを使用することで、実際の環境でLinuxコマンドを体験しながら学ぶことができます。
また、今回のワークショップではUbuntu Serverを使います。
実際の現場でも、リモートのLinuxサーバーにアクセスして作業をすることがほとんどの為、このワークショップを通して簡単に体験して頂ければと思います！
「Ubuntu」といった用語が聞き慣れないかもしれませんが、心配ありません。このワークショップでは、これらの概念をわかりやすく説明いたします。
セッションを通じて、基本的なLinuxコマンドから少し進んだコマンドまでを一緒に学び、ITキャリアの基盤をしっかりと築けるようにサポートします。

自己紹介
私の自己紹介をさせていただきます。私はIT業界で10年以上の経験があります。昨年はLinuxシェルスクリプトの開発者およびバックエンドのJava開発者として働いていました。今年は、念願だったAndroidアプリ開発者としてのキャリアをスタートしました。

参加者数の制限について：
Linuxコマンドを教える経験は今回が初めての為、より集中したサポートと参加者との密接なやり取りを実現するために、受講者数を2名に限定させていただきます。

こんな方におすすめのコースです：

• Linuxに関する知識が全くないけれど、Linuxの基礎的な知識を学びたい方
• 基本的なLinuxの知識はあるものの、効果的な学び方に自信がない方
• プログラミングやその他の技術分野の経験はあるが、Linuxには馴染みがない方
