Dear friends

for the September edition of Cafe philo Eindhoven we would like to discuss impressions evoked by the movie Louis Malle's My Dinner with André — a film that is, quite simply, two old friends having dinner and talking.

André recounts years spent searching for meaning: theatre experiments, rituals, journeys to the edges of ordinary experience. Wally, more grounded, pushes back — defending the quiet value of everyday life. Between them unfolds a wide-ranging conversation about authenticity, presence, and what it really means to live a meaningful life.

I welcome you to discuss your impressions after watching this movie. The conversation in the movie covers a a lot of topics. Lets discuss what struck you the most. This session of Cafe Philo Eindhoven is a relaxed, coffee-in-hand conversation before we pick our existentialism series back up with fuller preparation next time.

I am looking forward to another warm and thoughtful conversation circle.

Welcome!
