Dear friends
for the october edition of cafe philo EIndhoven we would like to dive deeper into more questions related existentialism. We think together and look into relevant existential thoughts and questions posed by 'The trial' of Franz Kafka.
Josef K. is arrested one morning for a crime that is never named, by a court he can never locate, following procedures no one will explain. He spends the rest of the novel trying to defend himself against an accusation whose content he never learns — and is executed all the same.
Join us for an open conversation exploring the questions this raises:
- Can we recognize Josef K's world in our own life and social institutions?
- Are we going through constant trial and defense in our life?
- How feeling of guilty functions in the society?
- Looking deeply inward are we in a constant fear of punishment and are we in constant efforts to not being guilty and avoid punishment?
- How it is to live in a world we didnt choose :) ?
