What we’re about
Open philosophical discussions in the center of Prague. Anybody who likes to think, to discuss, to argue is welcome. We will use a specific method to determine the topic of the discussion on the spot. Participants are asked to write a concept they would like to discuss on a piece of paper and throw it into a bowl. Then someone will be blindfolded to choose one piece of paper from the bowl. The first step in our philosophical conversation will be that we all together determine the opposite of the concept which was randomly chosen. We will try then to discuss the two opposite concepts together, colliding them, connecting them, separating them until our brain is on fire...
Come and experience how refreshing and invigorating it can be to think together with other people! Philosophy is the ultimate energy drink!

These are the hottest days of the year. We will meet on the 26th of July at the entrance of the Planetárium Praha (Královská obora 233, Bubenec, 170 21 Praha 7). From 17:15 until 17:30, we will gather in front of the planetarium. After 17:30, we shall then start searching for a nice place under the trees, where we will discuss, eat and drink together until the night…
If you like to have a philosophical conversation while enjoying the magnificent surroundings of the Stromovka Park, come and join us. You don’t need to apply and there is no entrance fee, the only condition for joining is that you bring something to eat and to drink with you. We will put all the delicious things on a blanket so that we don’t exchange only arguments…
Even though I normally don’t determine a topic in advance, I would like to ask you this time to make a list of some of your favorite movies. Try to imagine you have to convince another person that these movies are great. What would you say? What makes these movies important for you? What important (philosophical) questions do these movies raise or maybe even answer? (Don't get confused, this is the same event as published in my other Café Philo group, it's a joint gathering for everybody...)
