What we're about
Caferati (www.caferati.com) is a forum for adult writers in English. Most of what we do is online, but we also have an active real world presence, especially here in Singapore where we meet in a quiet bookish place. Join us to share your original writing in English with the group. Newcomers are welcome! Whether you’re a published author or a newbie, you’ll find peers in our group. We are completely non-commercial.
What you can read:
Fiction, poetry, essays, scripts, screen scenarios—anything that can be read aloud—in English, and within the time limit set (if there is one).
How you benefit:
You get feedback from fellow-writers in a congenial environment. It also helps to have a fixed day of the month to show off your new writing.
How to join us:
We generally meet on alternate Saturdays at 3:30pm in a place such as The Arts House. Sometimes we choose other places. Join us through Meetup, and join in.
Rules:
Be respectful in your critique.
Come over with a few copies of what you’ve written. If you’re interested in writing but not sure you want to read out your own piece the first time, that’s OK as well – join us to hear the others!
Upcoming events (4+)
Post your piece on the Caferati Revisited drive under the correct readmeet subfolder, and please write what questions you have for reviewers. Be reasonable in what you ask.
If you're new to the group, write to the organiser and they will help you navigate.
The meeting will be on Zoom or hybrid mode.
