Details
Basingstoke Science Cafe enthusiasts are invited to the Cafe Scientifique Henley talk on “Carbon Capture and Storage”

Café Scientifique organises talks, usually given by scientists, followed by questions from the audience in the second half. They are a great opportunity to explore the latest ideas in science and technology, you don't need to be a scientist to enjoy the evening, everyone is welcome to ask a question or make a comment. Join us for tonight's talk:
“Since the industrial revolution mankind has shifted the carbon cycle. The global average surface temperature is rising 20 times faster than at any time in the last 2 million years.
The international panel for climate change has stated that the changes are almost certainly anthropogenic, driven by the burning of fossil fuels.
Carbon capture is seen as one of the many solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The presentation will explore the various engineering challenges of carbon capture and storage.
