The Man Who Fell to Earth; Caravaggio's Shadow; Hundreds of Beavers
Details
The last Movie club of 2025, and the last with Brenton (that's me!) as MC. I've selected three films I'm keen to discuss, and plan to subject you all to them as my final act as acting deranged overlord of our movie society.
All these movies can be viewed on the free SBS On Demand service.
Please try to see all, or as many films as you can fit in.
DETAILS:
Hundred of Beavers (2022): An inept Applejack salesman must battle hundreds of beavers to go from zero to hero in this no-budget comedy that's been a recent cult hit.
Caravaggio's Shadow (2022): The artist Caravaggio lives the rock'n'roll lifestyle of the 1600s. He lives in hope of a pardon from the Pope, but will the Pope say nope? Does he dare to hope? How will he cope?
The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976): David Bowie plays a visitor to Earth who becomes entrenched in the complexities of human society. Expect Roeg at his Roegiest, with a slew of aesthetic flourishes.
