*All levels are welcome, but my hikes are designed for slow and beginner hikers who want to enjoy hiking without the fear of being left behind.*

Whitney Canyon Falls is relatively easy Oak shaded trail suitable for beginners, 3 miles out-and-back with an elevation gain of 305’. We will meet at the trailhead in the big dirt parking lot at 11:45 and start hiking promptly at 12:00. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. Parking is free.

The trail starts on a fireroad and gradually slims down into a single track along the creek. Prepare to get your feet wet as we will cross through the creek a few times, probably up to the ankles. Think of it as cleansing your boots. We will stop at the first waterfall and take a break before heading back.

On this hike we will connect with nature in various ways:

1. Walk in silence for awhile and observe our surroundings
2. Listen to the delightful sounds that nature provides for our enjoyment
3. Collect items such as rocks, leaves, or twigs and observe and feel its presence
4. Journal our experience perhaps at the waterfall, or a secluded area (Bring a notebook and pen)
5. Participate in a short meditation lead by Lora
6. Discuss what we discovered or learned

What to bring and essentials:

* small blanket to sit on, a notebook and pen
* poles for water crossings
* minimum of 2 liters of water
* snacks, sunscreen, hats
* Wear good hiking boots
* Restrooms: No
* Water Fountain: No
* Trail: Single track, pretty good condition but can be rocky
* Known Dangers: Rattlesnakes, slip-'n-fall.
