My hikes are designed for slow and beginner hikers. We enjoy a casual trek on the trails, we explore, take pictures, and we are not pressed for time. All levels are welcome, but if this is not your style, then please reconsider signing up.

This hike is 3.7 miles with an elevation gain of 695'. Most of the uphill will be coming back.

**ADVENTURE PASS**
You will need an adventure pass to park. Passes can be obtained at any BIG 5 Sporting Goods store. You will get a ticket if you don’t have one.

**WHERE AND WHAT TIME DO WE MEET?**

* 8:45AM: At the parking lot near the restrooms
* 9:00AM: We will begin. Please don’t be late
* There are restrooms at the parking lot

**DETAILS**

* Starting on a downhill grade through lush landscapes in the canyon, we will trek along the Arroyo Seco and cross it several times. Bring your poles and watch out for poison oak!
* We will take a break at the falls, have a snack, enjoy the scenery and take pictures

**PARKING**
There is plenty of parking but the lot can fill up quickly. Additional parking is available on the Switzer Truck Trail access road and at the entrance of the picnic area on the Angeles Crest Highway. Parking at either location will add extra mileage to your hike with a moderately steep climb from the picnic area to the Angeles Crest Highway parking lot.

**GEAR**
Bring a minimum of 2-3 liters, hiking poles (recommended), lunch/snack, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and bug spray. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.

Wear long sleeve tops and long pants to protect yourself from poison oak, stinging nettles, and other things. Wear good hiking boots, an extra layer of clothing for colder weather, and a bug net if you prefer.

**DRIVING DIRECTIONS**

* From the 5 FWY, take the 210 and head east
* Continue about 30 miles
* Stay left just beyond where Hwy 2 intersects and goes to Glendale
* At Exit 20, take the Hwy 2 exit North toward the Angeles Crest Highway / La Canada Flintridge
* Continue for 9.8 miles
* Pass the Clear Creek Ranger Station
* Look for the Switzer Falls sign on the right
* **Carefully descend to the parking lot below**
