Understanding Emissions at Oil and Gas Well Sites: Data Challenges and Opportunities
Calgary-based Kathairos Solutions Inc. is committed to working with the oil and gas industry to reduce methane emissions, which are routinely released during the production and transmission of oil and gas. To date, emissions data from the sector has been limited and often based on manufacture specifications. However, as countries and companies aim to advance net-zero goals and monetize their emission reductions, the accuracy of existing measurement and quantification techniques has become increasingly important. Join Kathairos’ Chief Climate Officer, Jacqueline Peterson, and Operations Data Manager, Jeremy Jennett, as they discuss how the company’s nitrogen-based methane elimination technology provides the best emissions data in the industry, and how the company is leveraging this data to drive operational efficiencies and (monetary) value for its customers.
Jacqueline Peterson, PhD
As Chief Climate Officer at Kathairos Solutions, Jacqueline works closely with oil and gas companies to deploy emission reduction technologies at the scale needed to achieve emission reduction targets. Jacqueline is responsible for Kathairos’ emission offset program, policy and government relations initiatives, Indigenous partnerships and Canadian business development. She received a PhD from the University of Toronto (Public Policy), where her research focused on sustainable infrastructure development, environmental management and climate finance in Canada and the United States. https://kathairos.com

Jeremy Jennett
Jeremy Jennett, Operations Data Manager at Kathairos Solutions, leads the company’s dispatch and logistics division. Jeremy is responsible for managing the proprietary data that is central to Kathairos’ reliable and efficient nitrogen distribution network and is the product manager of Kathairos’ emission reporting software. Jeremy holds a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of British Columbia and has spent the past 7 years in data and business analytics in progressively senior roles.

This presentation will dive into how Arbor, a Calgary-based tech startup, partnered with Crocs to break industry records and make significant, measurable progress toward achieving net-zero emissions. Together, we'll explore the innovative strategies, technologies and tangible milestones that Arbors unique technology utilized on its way to reshaping global supply chains.

• Speaker Bio:
  Omer was one of the first hires at Arbor, where he saw first hand how a disruptive technology made its way from a white board in a basement to some of the biggest board rooms across US, Japan and Europe.
• As a data analyst with five years of experience in the greenhouse gas (GHG) measurement industry, he has established himself as an expert in Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) analysis in the retail sector. He notably led the fastest ISO 14067 audit in the history of SGS, a global auditing firm. Through his experience and passion in data led technologies, he focuses most of his time replacing decades old processes with cutting edge data science to enable a low-carbon world as efficiently as possible.
