Welcome to Alpine Adventurers – A Calgary-Based Mountain Hiking Club!
Alpine Adventurers is a new hiking group based in Calgary, created for outdoor lovers who want to explore the mountains with a friendly, like-minded crew. Our official launch is in September 2025, with our first hike happening on Sunday, September 7!
🗓️ When We Hike
We head out most Sunday mornings, weather permitting, and leave from the Brentwood LRT Station at 8:00 AM sharp. Most hikes are in the Kananaskis and Elbow Falls areas, with occasional adventures to Canmore or Banff.
🥾 What to Expect
Our hikes are typically 10–20 km long, with 500–1500 m of elevation gain, and take about 4–6 hours (not including driving time) to complete. We’ll sometimes include easy scrambles with minimal exposure—no climbing gear needed.
👥 Who It's For
The group is open to all, but most members are university-aged (undergrads, grad students, or recent grads) with a moderate level of hiking experience.
💬 How to Join
If you're interested, click Join and send us a quick message! Before your first hike, we’ll have a short chat, and you’ll be asked to sign a waiver. There’s a $20 annual fee to join, paid through Meetup.

Disclaimer
Participation in Alpine Adventurers requires a moderate level of physical fitness appropriate for mountain hiking. To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all members, the club reserves the right to review and dismiss individuals whose fitness level does not meet the group’s requirements.
Additionally, members are expected to notify the group in advance if they are unable to attend a hike which they signed up for (especially if they volunteered as a driver).
Finally, timely arrival is much appreciated.
Failure to meet these expectations may result in removal from the club, at the discretion of the club owner.
