[Beginner/Intermediate] Play-Along Series: Jam the Binder 4/4

We’re kicking off a fun new play-along series designed to get everyone strumming, singing, and building skills together. Whether you’re just starting out or ready to grow your rhythm chops, this is your chance to dive into all the awesome songs we’ve collected in our CGC song binder—classic hits, feel-good favourites, and easy-to-love jams.
This is all about learning by doing. We’ll play through the songs together, pick up tips along the way, and enjoy the joy of making music in a group. Come build confidence, strengthen your rhythm, and connect with other local players.

Two levels, two vibes—choose the one that fits you best:

🎸 Newbies (5:00–5:45 PM)
Brand new to guitar or still learning the basics? This one’s for you! We'll focus on essential chords and beginner-friendly strumming patterns that open the door to playing real songs. Expect plenty of encouragement, guidance, and a supportive group to learn with.

You’ll work on:
✅ The most common chords in popular songs
✅ Easy strumming patterns that sound great
✅ Building confidence to play full songs
✅ Joining in group rhythm and keeping time

🎸 Beginner/Intermediate (6:00–7:30 PM)
Already familiar with open chords and some strumming? Ready to jam through a bunch of songs and sharpen your groove? This session is all about playing as much as possible and getting better fast through fun, real-time practice.

You’ll get:
✅ Play-along practice with a wide range of songs
✅ Tips to clean up your rhythm and transitions
✅ Guidance on trickier chords and tempo changes
✅ A relaxed, jammy vibe to grow your skills

📍 Venue: Highland Park Community Centre (3716 2nd Street NW, Calgary)
💵 Fee: $15 (per session)

Bob's been jamming on guitar since 1977 when his grandma gifted him his first axe. These days, he’s a pro at making beginners feel comfortable and helping them build skills from the ground up. When he’s not teaching, you might catch him busking around town as Busker Bob, sharing tunes on social media, or performing everywhere from Canada to Taiwan.
